I too would never recommend Tablo to anyone. I’ve had nothing but constant problems from the very first day I bought it. I have to reset it every day to make it work correctly and their support people tells me diffierent things – one says it’s ok to do that and another one said not too. I don’t know who to listen to. I did that for over a year so it’s too late to return it to Amazon now. And I just bought a new Samsung TV & it will not let me view recordings on it and Tablo support said they will need to do some kind of update to include Samsung new tvs but they don’t know when that will be!!! THEN GIVE ME MY FREAKING MONEY BACK. I am livid. I plan to get them listed on Google so reviews can be left there

I am very sorry that your Tablo is not working the way that it should.
When I got my first Tablo (Legacy) I did initially run it directly on my LG TV, but the performance was a little clunky. I then started using a standalone streaming box, a Roku device, and have never looked back. I’ve switched TVs a couple of different times and it’s been a non-issue, since the Tablo client software resides on the Roku, not on the TV.
I know this is probably not the suggestion you want to hear - go buy more hardware, but so far the Roku strategy has been working well for me.
Any device can potentially have issues, but I’ve found Roku updates to be more timely than any update I’ve ever gotten on my TV.
that is so sweet of you - but I’ve been back & forth with their techs for well over a year but my newest issue is that it won’t even play on my new Samsung tv. This is what they said:
“This issue will likely need to be corrected with an update to the Tablo app on Samsung smart TVs. Unfortunately, we do not have an ETA for when the next update will be available at this time”.
So I can’t even watch my shows on my big tv in my living room because of this issue. the original issue is that it always says Tablo not found & I have to reset. I also have the turn closed caption on & off several times before it kicks in. There are other issues too - this is the most pressing though. I want my money back badly
Thanks - but not willing to spend any more money to get Tablo to work. I have a Roku & a Samsung - I can’t even watch Tablo on the Samsung which I’m most upset about as I just bought the tv
Sorry about your problems. But realistically a Roku Ultra or a Onn 4K Pro box would solve your issues. Trust me, we all have had our share of issues with Tablo. It has saved me over $2,000 instead of other streaming services.
Maybe look into a Zapperbox or Homerun HD box if the Tablo doesn’t work for you. Personally it is cheaper to try a Roku Ultra IMHO ![]()
