Needs to be a class action lawsuit against tablo

I too would never recommend Tablo to anyone. I’ve had nothing but constant problems from the very first day I bought it. I have to reset it every day to make it work correctly and their support people tells me diffierent things – one says it’s ok to do that and another one said not too. I don’t know who to listen to. I did that for over a year so it’s too late to return it to Amazon now. And I just bought a new Samsung TV & it will not let me view recordings on it and Tablo support said they will need to do some kind of update to include Samsung new tvs but they don’t know when that will be!!! THEN GIVE ME MY FREAKING MONEY BACK. I am livid. I plan to get them listed on Google so reviews can be left there

I am very sorry that your Tablo is not working the way that it should.

When I got my first Tablo (Legacy) I did initially run it directly on my LG TV, but the performance was a little clunky. I then started using a standalone streaming box, a Roku device, and have never looked back. I’ve switched TVs a couple of different times and it’s been a non-issue, since the Tablo client software resides on the Roku, not on the TV.

I know this is probably not the suggestion you want to hear - go buy more hardware, but so far the Roku strategy has been working well for me.

Any device can potentially have issues, but I’ve found Roku updates to be more timely than any update I’ve ever gotten on my TV.

that is so sweet of you - but I’ve been back & forth with their techs for well over a year but my newest issue is that it won’t even play on my new Samsung tv. This is what they said:

“This issue will likely need to be corrected with an update to the Tablo app on Samsung smart TVs. Unfortunately, we do not have an ETA for when the next update will be available at this time”.

So I can’t even watch my shows on my big tv in my living room because of this issue. the original issue is that it always says Tablo not found & I have to reset. I also have the turn closed caption on & off several times before it kicks in. There are other issues too - this is the most pressing though. I want my money back badly

Thanks - but not willing to spend any more money to get Tablo to work. I have a Roku & a Samsung - I can’t even watch Tablo on the Samsung which I’m most upset about as I just bought the tv

Sorry about your problems. But realistically a Roku Ultra or a Onn 4K Pro box would solve your issues. Trust me, we all have had our share of issues with Tablo. It has saved me over $2,000 instead of other streaming services.

Maybe look into a Zapperbox or Homerun HD box if the Tablo doesn’t work for you. Personally it is cheaper to try a Roku Ultra IMHO :slightly_smiling_face:

I just bought a new TV as well a few months ago and while I understand not wanting to spend more money, if you have a fairly recent Roku I would recommend trying the Tablo channel available for it.

Regardless of the quality/price of the TV, there is almost always a better experience using an external device as they generally much more powerful and kept more updated.

I appreciate that. I cant buy anything else, I dont make much money. If I find a 2nd job I might consider. Thx for the suggestion. They really need to iron out the bugs so an additional purchase is not necessary

I do agree that bug fixes need to be a higher priority and Tablo shouldn’t be marketed as plug and play🙂.

I have had it over 2 years and I believe I was an unwilling Beta Tester for the first year. Trust me I know money being tight and feel your pain. Hope you find a cost effective solution.

Speaking of you can buy on the cheap an ONN device or FireTv stick for $20 and I’m positive that would be affordable and then you would enjoy your Tablo and stop the nonsense you are posting on this forum! You are a whining Beoch!

The Tablo has some issues, but the Tablo Team has worked hard to fix them and probably 99% of us are happy.

You are an outlier! So go for your class action suit. I will be supporting Tablo in it!

Roku Streaming Stick $40. You can’t blame Tablo if new TV is not yet compatible.

actually I can - they could at least planned for it - as of right now, they have no idea when they will address this. Thanks for the info - getting off this board - people are nuts

Just get a firestick or an Onn stick ($20) and install the Tablo app. All you problems will be gone and there’ll be no need to have an aneurysm!

This forum is a bad place for sympathy. I understand your problem and do sympathize with you. There are THOUSANDS that have had (and continue to have) problems with Tablo - you are not alone. Just have a look at the posts here. The problems never end. You could spend a full day and still not get through the endless issues available here to read about - going back years.

Sadly, there is not a more affordable alternative option. You spend more or you live with it. It’s unfortunate. I gave up expecting reliability a long time ago and just roll with the punches.

Actually, just for context, sometimes the TV manufacturers change things in newer models and if those changes weren’t ever communicated publicly then Tablo has to react versus being pro-active.

That has actually happened several times with the Tablo Roku channel.

Roku in their ecosystem calls things “channels” vs apps. Think of it as the Tablo app for a Roku. If you want to try that, here is how to install.

I haven’t used a Roku in years but if there are two Tablo channels, and you have the 4th gen Tablo (the “puck”), you want the channel with the blue background. Should look like this…

Note: this thread is not the way to get help. I understand the OP is frustrated, but this is just a lashing out at both Tablo and the established user base. The title is ridiculous as well.

For those with problems, search the forum for similar issues. If it is something that is new, start a thread with the details. This does sound like a newer issue based on changes that Samsung have made, so it likely will take some time to fix.

There is an extensive beta testing community for Tablo as well.
