Thanks for cleaning up the ridiculous number of movie genres under the movies tab, BUT I think you may have gone too far. I notice that “Romantic Comedy” & “War” are missing. With Veterans Day fast approaching, I would expect a number of war movies popping up.

I think that the genres are just pulled from the guide data. I don’t believe that Tablo picks and chooses which ones appear. I think the system scrapes the genres from all the listings in the guide and sorts them to build that page. This may be yet one more problem with the guide subcontractor, that they don’t do a good job of identifying genres. I, too, noticed that ‘Horror’ was missing. Those are lumped in with ‘Thrillers.’
I’ve heard that Tablo is trying to find a different guide provider. I don’t know the progress of that, but I would assume that they are locked into some sort of contract for a given period of time.

Quick update on this concern. We’ve tweaked some things in the background and by tomorrow most of you should see better genres listed.
