Somebody needs to get a grip.
When going to Movies > Genres the list has doubled in size with many of them duplicated with some silly additions (e.g. Movies & Best Movies). Time to take a refresher look at the Legacy headings and do some housekeeping.
I would venture that 2/3 of the headings could be flushed and no one would notice!
Universal problem. Genres/tags in general. Everyone wants “their tag”. So, always a mess no matter what system/product you’re using.
It’s like “star rating” systems. I was laughing the other day because on a 5 star rating system somebody said they wanted a 4.5 or something like that. In short, I have found the problem, and the problem is “us”.
I would assume that Tablo has nothing to do with how shows and movies are put into genres.
Example being: Sci-Fi and sci-fi as two separate categories with completely different shows. It has to be coming from gracenotes if not the stations themselves.
I am thankful for the reduction of genres labels. But no “Western” … I don’t think so!
The over abundance of genra was a problem since I searched for westerns most of the time. The legacy tablo has a scrolling feature that is great. One update to gen4 added the scroll then the next update broke it.
