After the shutdown this past weekend. I have lost access to all the programing on my hard drive. I have gone through all the typical suggestions and nothing seems to work.
Any ideas out there???

are you on OG or Gen4 Tablo?
gen 4 i think
white round reset button on bottom…
when you mean shut down… did it completely power off?
Have you removed the hard drive with it turned on? or at all?
Can the Tablo see the hard drive at all?
When the network went down, I thought it was a problem on my end.
I tried rebooting the device, but that did not work.
I then unplugged the hard drive and tried to reboot. That did not work.
I then did a soft reset. That did not work.
I finally got everything back on line today, but I have an issue with the recordings on my hard drive. The Tablo recognizes the hard drive. It sees that there is 2 gig of used space on the drive, but it does not “see” any of the recordings.
I am at a loss…
Wait, what’s the difference between rebooting, and a soft reset?
And what did you do to do the soft reset exactly?
reboot is just tapping the reset button for a second. Soft reset is holding it for a count of 7. Hard reset (factory reset) is 20 seconds.
soft reset.
unplug the Tablo.
Unplug the hard drive.
plug the Tablo back in and hold the reset for a count of 7.
go through the install.
the soft reset should still remember the hard drive, but forget the network settings.
I’m sorry, but a soft reset is briefly pressing the reset button.
You performed a factory reset, which erased the recordings:

As hard as I thought about it, I don’t ever see a need to unplug the hard drive.
There is no software running on it.
Powering a hard drive on is the greatest risk of it failing.
Holds true for most electronics.
For me, unplugging anything is an absolute last resort.
Once you reset the Tablo it breaks the link to the hard drive.
Also when you reboot the tablo without the hard drive, that breaks the link too.
I assume there is an active database in there that does the references and that link is broken.
