Happy Monday folks -

Over the last year, Amazon has released three Fire TV devices that run a new operating system called Vega. This new OS means these Amazon Fire TV devices require a different type of app for compatibility.

We’re currently beta testing a Tablo app for these devices and are looking for additional testers.

If you own one of these devices and would like to beta test a compatible Tablo app, please complete our beta team signup survey and then reply to this post:

  • Amazon Fire TV 4K Select streaming stick
  • Amazon Fire TV HD Stick
  • Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K (3rd Gen)

My Firestick stopped working and I received a replacement today, only to learn that it has Vega OS and is incompatible with Tablo (which is the primary reason I bought the Firestick in the first place). I would love to beta test but would need to know if I qualify soon before I return it.

Hi @seanhanley,

You’re in!

4

Hope I am selected I have two vega os devices

7

I was planning to buy a Vega device but delayed because there is no Tablo app. Should I be selected to test the Beta I would purchase one immediately.

Bought them specifically to get Tablo on two other TV’s in the house.

Surprise! No app.

Please sign me up!

I filled out your request form.

Thank you

The new Vega OS FireTV devices are severely crippled. Closed system OS (like Roku). Get the Android OS sticks while they are still on sale.

Kinda defeats the purpose of asking people to sign up for Beta Testing the new Vega version of Tablo.

Have submitted the request

I recently bought a fire stick HD expecting the Tablo App for my Samsung TV that just missed its required OS.

I’m a retired electronic engineer and would like to serve as a beta tester for the Tablo app that will work with Amazon OS.

I think I did the required survey but didn’t get confirmation.

Thanks

Can I test the Beta for Vega

Hope to be selected. I currently use my Tablo on other TVs with Roku and Firesticks and a Sony TV. Have a new stick with Vega OS that I would like to stream as well.

I have the new Fire Tv Stick 4k with Vega OS and a 4th Gen Tablo and would like to beta test the new app. I’ll finish the survey when I am home in front of the box to get the MAC address.

Request submitted

Cord Cutters News just posted about the beta program, which may help get more testers.
