Lon.TV just reviewed this Aurzen Roku D1R Cube Smart Projector which is a Roku-based system. He mentioned some missing features and I wonder if this will not be compatible with the Tablo, like the Roku Streaming Stick Plus (3830) model.
I am assuming the tablo roku app would install on this, as on any other roku device. Or would the apps on my roku ultra just show up on the projector menu, once I have registered it with my roku acccount?
Good performance for the price, acc to Lon, whom I consider one of the more reliable reviewers.
Never thought about this possibility til I saw it on Lon’s channel; it would solve a few problems in my house. And, I am looking for a new toy at the moment; would anyone care to share their experience with this device or similar ones?
Thank you.
I’m seeing it list for $249 with a coupon for $179 - only in white. Grey and green not available.
You can (maybe) do better for the price with an el-cheapo projector (that this is) and a real Roku… but, it won’t be “all in one”. You might (emphasis) be able for just a bit more get a much better projector with external Roku combo for a similar (non discounted) price, if you get a good deal. I’m not big fan of these el-cheapo (all too prolific) projectors.
I think longer term, if you can handle multiple devices, you’d be happier with the “two device” solution. But… if you just have to have to have an all in one, this might be “it”.
I bought a $170 projector a while back and used it for a little over a year before it died. It also had some dust specs on its lcd panel and a finger print on the back side of the lens. I replaced it with a $1400 4k Viewsonic DLP with laser light source and wished I had bought it first. NFL has never looked better on my 110” screen. The old saying “you get what you pay for”, is particularly applicable when it comes to tech.
Thank you for your opinions.
I just bought one. Yes the AIO feature, portability, and the single cable for power, are important. The fewer the cables, the more my wife likes it ![]()
I like to think long term too; however in this case I first need the experience of living with it for a while, get my feet wet, and the price is doable for me.
I also have relatives with kids who would love to get a gizmo like this if I don’t keep using it ![]()
