I’ve had a 4th gen Tablo, accessed thru Roku, on a Samsung TV since January. This morning it began some odd behavior. When I open Tablo, across the top of the screen it reads “Library Home Live Shows Movies Sports” and settings icon. “Home” is highlighted. All of the functions in “Library” and “Home” work. If I move rapidly past “Live” before the scheduled programming appears, the remaining options (“Shows” , “Movies” etc) work normally. But if I stop on “Live” long enough for the scheduled programming to appear, any cursor movement, left right or down, causes the program to exit.
I’m using Roku because it’s a older Samsung TV so I cannot download the recently available Samsung Tablo app. I do have a newer Samsung smart TV on which I have installed the Tablo app and this problem does not occur.
I have the latest updates. I tried a reboot. I removed and reinstalled the Tablo app. Problem persists.
One TV is using a model WR001. I don’t recall when I purchased it. Another TV is using a 4k streaming stick purchased in Jan or Feb of this year. Both devices have the same issue.
The roku system/about menu displays what roku model you are using as well as the roku OS version you have installed.
Part of the stability changes for the live TV grid include limiting some low-end Roku devices running Roku OS 13+ to displaying 7 days of data, instead of the full two weeks. These devices do not have enough active memory to load the full live TV grid and may still experience crashes before updating to Roku OS 13.
sincerely appreciate the help with this, and my apologies. I suppose I should have been more patient because after a few hours the problem corrected itself. However, just in case you’re still interested, one of the non-smart TVs, not a Samsung, has model 3810x Streaming Stick +, software version 13.1.4 build 1512-50. The other TV is a Samsung, using a model 3820R2 Streaming Stick 4K, software version 13.1.4, build 1510-E6.
I do have a different issue that’s been plaguing me for awhile now. Let me know if I should start a new thread. The record function on live TV frequently begins on time but stops well short of the scheduled end of the program, even though that program continues to the scheduled end time. For example, recently a scheduled 2 hour program recorded just the first 20 minutes.
