Legacy Tablo concern

I’ve read that some people that did the latest ‘transition’ update lost the Commercial Skip feature from their Legacy Tablo. If I update and lose it is there a way to get it back? Losing it would create BIG issues in my marriage, but I’m sure that the Legacy should be updated for safety reasons. What do you think?

When you upgrade you’ll be using the new app to watch the Legacy Tablo which doesn’t have the commercial skip feature however you’ll still be able to use the Legacy App where commercial skip is available so keep both apps and if you don’t like the new app (which is very different) just keep using the legacy app.

So, what’s the benefit of upgrading? We currently have the Legacy app and the Generation 4 app, but prefer the Legacy because I always seemed to have issues with the Gen4 version.

Maybe the only benefit is the 14 days free guide if you are not longer subscribe for it on the legacy tablo

Thanks for your input.

From Tablo…

4th Generation Tablo apps offer most of the same features as legacy Tablo apps. There are some differences as outlined below. After the transition, you can choose to use both sets of apps to maintain access to legacy features unavailable via 4th Gen apps.

I suspect one aspect of this firmware update is to allow Tablo servers greater access to your Legacy device, in the form of what you watch, record, etc.

Thank you!!!

Accurate, but adding that legacy users, could be “old timers” with the product(s) under a pre-paid lifetime guide subscription that might even apply across all their legacy devices (there was a day).

Yes I love some of the grandfathered features.
