Tablo app simply dies and tv goes back to homescreen after ~1 sec.
legacy tablo device 2.2.42
Roku 14.1.4 build 7709
Tablo App still works fine on iphone and I can watch Tablo using safari on imac, suggesting problem lies with Roku. I tried deleting the app on the Roku and reinstalling, power cycling devices, playing with setting on both the Roku and the Tablo, but have gotten nowhere. I recently found that Safari on Sequoia 15.2 forces use of https and now have to manually force url to http to connect, but I can watch live TV and recordings after connecting. Could it be a similar issue with the Roku? Any suggestions for how to get the legacy Tablo app to work on my TCL Roku TV again?
The browser issues do make it hard (or prevent) the legacy Tablo from being used in a browser anymore, but they have nothing to do with the set-top apps (GoogleTV, Roku, and AppleTv), the mobile apps, or the Windows app.
If reinstalling the app and rebooting the Tablo didn’t help, a trouble ticket is your best bet.
@HughDaMann - I’m using Firefox 134.0.2 (64-bit) on Win-doze 11 and don’t experience an issue. I’ve seen where Safari has been experiencing issues, but it was still usable. Now, it no longer appears to be so.
On recommendation from another poster, I also installed the TabloTV Windows app, which also works (while being a much older HTML version).
In Firefox > OG Tablo > Settings → HTML App v1.9.35 build 1041 [202402051332]
In Windows > OG Tablo App > Settings → HTML Application: v1.9.9 build 227 [202107161457]
Hi @HughDaMann ,
The solution outlined here may also work for the issue you’re describing: Roku Playback Error - Video Not Playable On Your Device – Tablo .
Hope it helps.
Thank you for the suggestion, but that did not work. Rather than continue to fight with Roku, I bought an Amazon Fire stick and plugged that into an HDMI port and I am back up and running, though the interface is a little different. I no longer have a list of recordings under a particular show to choose from and no longer have the little preview window at the bottom for fast forwarding past commercials. This is using the legacy Tablo app. Are there options to get those features back on the Amazon Fire?
