I have recently been having this same issue, where it frequently stops and jumps back to the guide while watching live TV. It mostly does this on my much older devices, like my five year old Roku Premier 3920R. I have swapped them out for newer models and that seemed to solve the problem. They were aging out anyway.
Zippy, I have a Roku Ultra 4802X and I occasionally see the same issue both viewing live and playing back recordings. When playing recordings, it sometimes jumps back to the guide and sometimes goes into offline mode. The interesting thing is that if I try playing back the same recording it fails at the same place but then will continue playing back normally.
I have a 4th gen 2ch Tablo and everything is connected with Ethernet.
I have a 4200, 4660, and a 4802. None of them do this on the gen 4. But they all get funky using the legacy units if I use the right d-pad to much to advance the recording and then I pause the legacy recording playback they often exit the app.
I donāt use the d-pad advance much on the gen 4. And I usually donāt use tablo for live TV.
Nope, it does NOT continue. Iāve had the same issue for years with my Legacy Tablo.
I rarely use the DVR feature. This happens to me often, along with other multiple issues I have documented in emails to your contact center and also on Reddit, where Tablo reps have responded. All we continue to get are excuses and no software updates.
I generally only watch live TV on tablo 4th gen on Sundays, live NFL games. The last two weekends when i watch a live broadcast after a minute or two the show stops and Tablo reverts to the live guide. I just tried local ABC, CBS, and NBC affiliates and they are all doing the same thing. When this happened last week i reset Tablo and Roku, to no avail.
I tried recording the show, waited several munutes them start watching from the beginning and it still stops and goes to the Library, Latest screen.
I saw a closed post here of someone who had a similar problem but I could see the responses.
Why can I Not watch live TV?

I am having the same issue. This was happening a week or so ago, worked fine last week and started doing it again today. I have two Roku televisions and when one TV does this the 2nd one will also do it at the same time, but my iPhone will continue working properly.
I am running into the very same thing.
I tried watching a show I had just started recording and that did not work. I tried watching a show I had recorded this morning and that did not work. I tried watching a show I had recorded several days ago and that did not work.
However, I was able to watch the Vikings-Steelers game recorded earlier today with no issuesāother than the Vikings lost the game. I was also able to watch a movie from several days ago, with no issues.
Hope they are able to get things solved soon.
Same here. Highly annoying. Tablo was working perfectly then suddenly itās back to the guide every couple mins or less.
Same here, just started today. Watching live tv or streaming Tabloās fast channels only to be bounced back to the guide after a few minutes. Did a reset on everything and still have the same issue. This is a problem!!!

Did you factory reset Tablo yet? Iām getting ready to try that next. Does the same thing on my older Roku ultra and newer Roku streambar pro.
Yes did a factory reset. I am using a brand new, 3 week old Roku 4k with a built in Roku.

Same thing here. Works on my iPad but keeps dropping back to grid on Roku every few minutes or so.
Same here. Started today. Works fine on iPad, but not on Roku tv or Roku 4k adapter.
Same here! I find this new tablo very troublesome. Not as good as the legacy one I gave up a few months ago. I used to recommend tablo, never again.

Having the same Issue, i just unplugged Tablo and let it reboot and so far so good but we will see if it works after a few minutes
Add me to the list. As of tonight my 4th gen on Roku is useless.
I start watching a recorded show and after 30 seconds or so it stops playing and reverts back to the library screen with all the episodes for the series I was watching.
I can resume the recording and it will play for another 30 seconds to a minute and this pattern repeats until I give up.
Iāve tried various series recordings, reset everything, but no luck.
This is the last straw for me, Iām done with Tablo. Itās just not worth the frustration anymore.
Iām currently researching HDHomerun, does anyone have other suggestions ?
