I think the issue is with tvOS 17. I have problems controlling third-party apps on the Apple TV with the Siri Remote. I’m unable to control volume, channel selection and even moving back to the Home Screen. This also happens when I use the Sling TV app. This also happens on all 5 of my Apple TV’s. As a side bar I don’t have these issues when viewing Apple TV+ programming. Various forums on many tech websites are littered with people having these issues. This issue is hard to troubleshoot because it comes and goes, it’s like playing wack-a-mole.
Posting to say “me, too!” 4 AppleTVs in the house and not a one will display from my Tablo. All are on TVos 17. Really disappointed…
I’m also posting to say that I just hooked up an old AppleTV 4K that is running TVos 16.4 - it interfaces very well with the Tablo…just like it’s supposed to - all functions.
Similar issue running tvOS 17.2, playback of any kind (live or recorded) freezes after a few seconds. Makes the app unusable.
Me, too…disappointing… It seems that Tablo either has a talent problem in their software department or a strategy to actively discourage Apple TV users…and long time Tablo users as a consequence. Why on earth would I buy the ‘new’ Tablo?!

Don’t feel bad as there is not even an app yet for the new white Tablo and AppleTV devices. Been waiting weeks and now not even using it anymore, trying out a Zapperbox.
FYI for those tracking this issue, it looks like an update for the legacy app for Apple TV was released last week (v2.4.1) and I am no longer experiencing this issue on tvOS 17. My thanks to the Tablo software team for addressing this issue for us older customers, now I can update the rest of my TVs.
