iam sad to report that my tablo quit displaying live channels i hav switched to directv where i can record my locals you be well
You got a do what you got a do. Well wishes to you
Sorry to see you go.
I too am saying goodbye to my HDMI Tablo after many years of saving money from high cable bills. We’re reroofing our home and had to take down our antenna and made the decision to not put it up again. Switching to Hulu+Live TV for now.
You might consider putting an outdoor antenna in your attic.
See this post with some pictures of how others mounted an outdoor antenna in their attic.
Our manufactured home does not have an attic.
My daughter has a Clearstream 4 in her living room, up against the wall behind her entertainment center. It gets excellent reception from towers 50 miles away.
well i went with a directv genre pak and it dont have locals so i got my tablo hooked bak up and its working so far im back
I took the same route. The genre package is reasonable and may be a loss leader until they try to force people to their higher price packages with local channels. They make a killing on the local chans.
So, how much is this “genre package” and what does it include? My DirecTV had gotten to be about $150.00 before I told them to get lost, but that did include my local channels.
i got the entertainment package and it runs 34.99 it has a lot of what i want except newsnation and reelz but i got NN elsewhere and found out prime video has reelz+ for 4.99 and since the reelz+ app isnt on android tv yet its perfect
go to website check it out there really is a lot packed into the entertainment pak
As expected, they are starting to make it more difficult to find the genre packs. Get in while you can
i ditched direct tv for hulu
Do tell…
Not sure what I was thinking but that should say I ditch Hulu and went back to DirecTV my budget can’t handle Hulu’s prices plus I can get all my locals with tablo it seems to be working good as of lately
When we reroofed our house 2 years ago, our antennas were taken down. We decided to not put them back up, as they were about 35’ above grade and I didn’t want the hassle and risk of injury doing the installation. Instead, I mounted the UHF and VHF antennas to the back of my deck, only about 10’ above grade and got BETTER results. As was explained to me by an RF engineer, this was likely due to knife-edge diffraction causing the signal to be stronger nearer the ground.
At this time we’re liking Hulu +Live TV (though not the price). With the NFL season approaching, we’re all set with local stations, ESPN, NFL Network along with our subscription to Prime Video for Thursday Night Football. I did tell my wife that I reserve the right to install the antenna again if streaming gets too expensive. It probably wouldn’t be until the Nextgen fiasco is finally clarified.
