How to record from Roku?

OK, all that I have connected to my Tablo is the digital antenna while my Roku stick is connected directly into my TV. The challenge I have is how to record a streaming program that’s on the Roku (NBC Sports Gold) onto the Tablo? Can I instead plug the Roku into the Tablo? So far I can’t get NBC Sports Gold to show up in the Tablo directory…Please HELP!

You can’t record Roku channels on the Tablo. Only OTA (over the air) broadcasts. You play back those recordings to your TV using the Tablo app on the Roku.

Looks like a gizmo like this would work, but I imagine it is expensive.

Basically one would need a device that would accept analog or digital video signals and output a digital tv channel that could be merged with the antenna OTA signals (or use an A/B switch) and fed to the Tablo.

Maybe the Chinese will come up with a cheaper version?

I figured something like that had to exist. Never knew how to get one. I wonder how it handles HDCP content?

Black Magic Intensity Pro 4K card for PC, or Intensity Pro USB3 shuttle for regular HD are two ways to capture HD or 4K source with audio using a PC.

Regarding HDCP, there are several “splitter” cables that do not pass through the HDCP component to the output signal.

They only claim HDMI 1.3 HDCP 1.2, and it allegedly is only good for max 720p/30Hz with about 100ms of delay…

You know you have reached the end of the cordcutter universe when someone wants to take a pay package OTT service with DRM and mesh it into a OTA product.

Maybe it’s explained in the NBC Sports Gold terms of service:
