How to mark multiple forum posts as read w/o opening them

How would I mark posts as “read” without needing to open them individually?
Thanks.

Hmmm… I’m not sure your can. When I first joined I think I read enough that it pushed the unread ones off the bottom of my screen. I read most of the new threads, so it hasn’t been trouble for me. I do like the red line that tells me which posts are new since my last visit.

When I open the forum, I see “Latest”, “Unread”, “Hot”, and “Categories”. If I click on “Unread”, there is a button called “Dismiss”. Clicking on that will mark everything as read.

You can also check particular threads in the Unread screen and just mark them as read.

I had not seen that before. I learned something new.

Thanks.

Well that’s the problem then.
I don’t have an ‘unread’ button to click on, just latest, hot, categories.
In both Firefox/Windows and Safari/iOS. I am signed in too BTW. :man_shrugging:

This was brought up before earlier this year, and not everyone had “Unread” as a category. I really don’t know what makes that listing show up for some and not others.

There are options in Discourse, like the ability to show a New tab and a Dismiss New (catch up) button.

This might help.
