How to Export Glitchy Video Content From A Legacy Tablo

In an earlier post, I announced I had scripts that will export Legacy Table recordings that are glitchy. I am now working on a vibe coding hobby project that is more comprehensive. If I finish this mini app, I will again ask if anyone wants to try it.

I am currently able to 1) create a local database of Legacy Tablo recordings in a Json file - a crude tiny database, 2) search this local database for recordings, 3) export the recordings via ffmpeg. A sync script also allows the local database to be updated to reflect the current state of your Legacy Tablo. I may include a feature that will allow an advanced user to fully customize their ffmpeg runtime parameters to anything they like, so that power users who really understand ffmpeg (the software program that actually does the heavy lifting) to do whatever they want.

You’re saying Tablo Tools wouldn’t do the job, so you used ChatGPT to help you make some scripts to download and salvage the videos from your Legacy Tablo? That’s quite an accomplishment

I’ve been using Tablo Ripper for years to download videos off of our OG Legacy device and it works pretty good. I found Tablo Tools later, but have never really used its features.

I am interested and willing to try. I am also a retired IT guy.
