Guide title in French, not English

My preference language in my Tablo settings is English, yet the title in the guide for the show Tracker on CBS is in French?

I’ve experienced the same thing in my recorded shows. When I first open the library the title of one show, High Potential is in English. After watching and I go back to the library the title is in French, Haut Potentiel (or something like that…I’m not in front of it at present).

I don’t see the text in the guide in other languages, but sometimes the ‘poster’ for a show will have French writing.

…although oddly, CNN Headline News was all in Spanish in the guide for a little while.

@KGBnut You’re right. It was the poster, not the title itself.

The wrong language posters is something I have occasionally seen on places like JustWatch and ReelGood, too.

I can only explain it based on what I have observed on legacy. And that doesn’t explain french. I live in an area that has both mexican and U.S. station that broadcast in spanish.

A show has a unique program ID. The poster art gets refreshed every few months. If there is the same program on multiple channels only one copy of the poster art is saved. If the updated poster art in the updated guide contains spanish and is detected first in the guide then the poster art is in spanish.

I have the same issue. Is there a fix?

Hi @Texnixon ,

If everything about the affected shows is in French, and you’re near the Canadian border, you might be picking up some French channels.

If you’re not near the Canadian border, would you share with us which channels/shows are affected and roughly where you’re located?

I live in eastern Connecticut. The icon for the show High Potential has always been in French for as long as I have owned the Tablo. There were a couple of others, but I don’t see them now because the new season has not started yet (or the problem has been corrected).

I’m in Indiana. I’ve noticed it on Tracker and High Potential. The shows are correct in English. French is on the title after it is recorded.

Those are the two shows that I consistently see in French here is southwestern Connecticut. It is just the poster images, so it doesn’t bother me. In fact, it makes me chuckle a little.

Yes, I forgot about Le Traqueur. Tracker has always shown a French poster icon here in eastern Connecticut. Like KBNut, I don’t consider this to be a problem, just an interesting oddity.

Yes! these 2 shows icons appear in french and am nowhere near the canadian border

Same here in St George, Utah. Both Tracker and High Potential tiles are in French.

My HDMI Tablo while is not showing this issue it does shows the wrong picture for Weakest Link Celebrity Edition, it shows the picture of the show Billy The Kid.

I do not live near the Canadian border (California) and the poster for High Potential is in French. But the guide has much more serious problems than this.

I live in socal. Are you sure that newsom and the state legislature hasn’t seceded from the u.s. and joined canada. In california anything is possible.

I’m in South Carolina and both those shows posters have the French title.

I occasionally get Le Traqueur in ALL Recording Tiles. It also indicates ABC as the channel when I know it is CBS. It does record normally. After recording it changes to English.
