Hi there,

Thanks for contacting Tablo Support.

Unfortunately, our guide data provider is currently unable to add guide data for missing channels and may have trouble updating incorrect channels. Our team is investigating some solutions to resolve this issue to acquire the schedule data for channels like this in the future, but this is likely a few months away until we’re able to resolve these types of inquiries.

Interesting. Thanks for the share.

Plainer language version: guide won’t be accurate for foreseeable future & recordings can’t be scheduled?

Users could use manual recording. Oops not for a gen 4.

I’ve always had issues with the OTA guide channel data when using my zipcode. Even my old Fire TV Recast displays the wrong OTA guide channels when I use my zipcode. In fact, since I’m over 70 miles away from where the originating OTA broadcast stations call home, I’ve even tried their home town’s zipcodes which also provided the same wrong OTA channel lineup on all my devices.

What I found out was, if I use a zipcode that’s right next to mine which is 10 more miles away from the OTA broadcast stations then I am, then the OTA guide channels are correct.

(Conspiracy Theory) I’ve always thought the reason was because thier zipcode isn’t covered by the BIG cable provider where the OTA broadcast stations call home and I’m located. So their zipcode OTA guide channel data isn’t manipulated by the BIG cable provider in my area if that’s even possible. Ya never know.

LOL. Love the conspiracy theory angle! I hate to tell ya that I chose a town 1/5 the size of mine and it’s given me the best data.

Consumer guide data is distributed based on OTA channels within a DMA and zip code within a DMA.

I live in the southwest and there is a good quality mexican channel that broadcasts backup MLB games on saturday. Except that the mexican sports network is located in mexico city and the guide is always off by 2 hours. Manual recording is required for these games.

I am more interest in who provides the gen 4 guide data. Too me it doesn’t look like gracenotes.

Why couldn’t @TabloTV post it instead of me copying it from email.? I thought to share it. Because “tech support” could have told me that on the phone. I gave up on the phone, emailed, and Dereck replied. I remember when Zi talked to Dereck and others prior to EW Scripts.

Gracenote we used to. Hope a deal can be reached with zTitanTV where we create our custom lineup, like I already have basing off of other channels in same time zone

Are they switching to Titan? I might have missed that.

I don’t think so
I use TitanTV myself to know what is on. I suggested long ago to switch to something besides Gracenote but t ok date they haven’t.

When I looked at my on prem DNS server… I see this site getting accessed alot:

** nuvy.tmsimg.com **

If you goto the site in your browser, it redirects to gracenote. I would assume they are using grace note.

I also see this show up a lot too:

** api.tablotv.com **

I would assume some data is coming from that also.

We are not. Titan is not a service available for commercial use.

@Dereck said Gracenote currently unable to update
TitanTV can be used by consumers for free and I have been using it for a long time. It does not interface with Tablo unfortunately, but at least you know what is on

schedules direct?
