Goooood Morning Tablo! To take a phrase from the movie Good Morning Vietnam.. ![]()
That’s how excited I am to be a part of the Tablo user community.
I finally laid to rest my Tivo device and it’s subscription today. I’ve been a long time, really long time, user of Tivo and have enjoyed what it provided. But, a few years ago the “experience” started to change. For me this actually started when Tivo moved away from innovating and more towards monetizing the installed user based. It just wasn’t the same anymore. And Tivo has basically sold off itself to a company that strictly wants to monetize the users to harvest the annuity payments it brings in. I get it. Don’t like it. But, do get it.
Thanks be to the big man upstairs on this glorious Easter Sunday. As not only has he risen. But, so has my Tablo.
I simply love the device. The RF analog receiver looks to be a better design. Which makes sense as technology will move forward. A few years ago, I built a Gray-Hoverman TV antenna for the attic. A few channels really gave me fits in terms of receptions. I even went so far as to talk with the RF broadcast engineer at the problematic station. Could never find the issue. Installed my Tablo and.. BINGO. No more reception problems. I attribute this to the newer technology.
I also like the slime design. It’s more contemporary.
I had a spare USB hard drive that I plugged in. The installation was easy peasy! Can’t say much more than that.
Overall, it was money well spent. That’s how capitalism is suppose to work. A better product gets the customer.
Kudos to everyone at the Tablo company for bringing a good product to market and making me happy!
