I have a 4 Generation 4 Turner Tablo unit with a amplified antenna with a External WD Hard Drive with a OBTV Filter because I’m dealing with signal issues too in my area (North Las Vegas Nevada) I have my amplified indoor antenna set in the right direction of where my Towers are, ( they are slightly behind me) I’m told I should have my antenna facing East which they are.
And have a new Roku smart TV

I was watching one of my favorite TV Shows in live recording when it started to become pixelated with some little buffering then stopped! I am very unhappy and frustrated that this has happened! Plus the rest of the show probably got recorded BUT the rest of the show became pixelated I couldn’t finish watching the show because it buffered and stopped and it just looped.!
My other second show that came on after that, failed to record! Another show of mine also became pixelated during the recording process, it got recorded but with bad reception with pixelated picture
Plus I’m always resetting my Tablo Unit because it becomes disconnected or the Tablo app crashes on my Roku TV
Do you have the built-in amplifier turned on?
Since you have an amplified antenna, you might be overloading the tuners in the Tablo with too much signal. I suggest turning both amplifiers off, check for good signal, then if you need some amplification turn the antenna amp on and leave the Tablo amp off and check again.
I forgot to mention that I also have a Jolt switch with a USB connector attached to it.
The applied antenna is 60 miles in range and has a built in coaxial cable to the antenna.
The reason why I have an amplified antenna because I wasn’t getting CBS and the MeTV Channel, I now am getting CBS But still not getting MeTV! I’m suppose to get that Channel too.
I found another way of getting MeTV Through a subscription app that carries it in the app, I just pay a small monthly fee for the subscription.
I have tried doing both turning on and off the Antenna Amplification in the Tablo settings.

But there is a little switch on the side of the switch box of the Jolt switch, BUT I think that has to do with the VHF/UHF Signal? The MeTV is either on the UHF or VHF? and I think I need to somehow tweet that??
With the OBTV Filter, that was supposed to keep the other towers out of the way but it isn’t working for me?
What model of indoor antenna do you have? The Jolt switch is an amplifier and the switch is an on and off switch. I just looked at it on Amazon. I use an indoor antenna and the towers are about 25 mi away (Charleston, SC) and I don’t need any amplification to my Gen4. I also don’t have VHF stations near me.
If you have a flat indoor antenna they are notorious for not picking up VHF stations very well even though the description of the device says it does. Maybe if you were within 10 mi or so but not at 25+ mi and if you try to amplify the signal it will over drive all the other UHF signals. If the CBS/MeTV station is a VHF station you might need to upgrade your antenna.
I already upgraded my indoor flat antenna From the Tablo flat antenna to an amplified antenna (Mohu Leaf) flat panel antenna that comes with the Jolt switch. The Tablo tech suggested that I try an amplified 50-60 Range antenna. I bought it from Best Buy, they also had just an amplified antenna without a Coaxial cable.
The coaxial cable that came with the Mohu Leaf amplified antenna is extra long so the Tablo tech suggested to coil and shorten the cable up some with some kind cable wrap. The tablo tech also suggested what kind of brand of amplified antenna to use for the Tablo unit. Best Buy only had two kinds of amplified antennas that was compatible with the Tablo unit.
I wonder if I should return the amplified antenna that I bought and get the just the amplified antenna alone and use the Tablo coaxial cable (RG6)?
This really does look like a signal reception problem. I get similar problems when there is bad weather between myself and the towers. Did the problem eventually fix itself?
I really am not a fan of those ‘mud-flap’ antennas, although the Mohu Leaf is the best of them.
According to rabbitears.info, MeTV is a low-VHF station (2.10) and CBS is a high-VHF station (7.3). I have the same model antenna that you have, a Mohu Leaf and it works great for the UHF stations. I tried to put one up at my Mom’s house and she has the same problems…can’t tune in the VHF stations (she has two) and when trying to use an amplifier it over amplifies the already good channels and the pixelization occurs.
IMHO you need to get an antenna that picks up the VHF stations better than the Leaf. If you want to keep trying make sure the Jolt is connected at the beginning of the cable (nearest the antenna) and not at the end (nearest the Tablo). If the amplifier is at the end it will also amplify any noise that occurs along the wire before it gets to the amplifier.
No it did not fix itself, I have been having issues since we bought the Tablo unit and their antenna, we are first time buyers and first time streamers, just recently cut off from our cable company (Cox) I’m really having a hard time with this new change.
I wonder if we need to get a second set of antenna?
We can’t have a outdoor antenna our HOA won’t allow to have one either that or we have to go through paperwork and wait for an approval from our HOA, that can take weeks or a Month to get an approval for an outdoor antenna, plus we have a two story house, who will install the outdoor antenna on our tall roof? NOT MY HUSBAND, I’m afraid he’ll fall and break his neck! We have no specialists to come out and install an outdoor antenna we have to hire someone and that can be a bit expensive!
My mother and my aunt both use an outdoor antenna, but they have it installed in their attic. My mother uses the Channel Master Digital Advantage 100. This works well for them. It might not work if you have something like a radiant barrier as the aluminum might partially block the signal. Even then it still might work better than one of the flat indoor antennas.
I did have the Jolt switch hooked up to the Tablo unit and the OBTV Filter hooked up behind the jolt switch and had the other end of the OBTV Filter connected to the antenna coaxial cable, but today I switched it over, I connected the OBTV Filter to the Tablo Unit and the other end of the OBTV Filter I connected the Jolt switch and the, The jolt switch to the amplified antenna coaxial cable, I have attached a picture of what I did, after doing this I reset the Tablo unit and then went into the Tablo app on my iPhone 16 plus into the Tablo app settings and did a channel rescan, still didn’t get that MeTV Channel.

The amplified antenna coaxial cable is built into the antenna under the antenna itself, it can’t be removed.
We can’t put an outdoor antenna because of our HOA If we had put a outdoor antenna on our two story house we would have to do paperwork and wait weeks or a month for approval from our HOA plus we don’t a specialized person to install the outdoor antenna on our roof because I don’t want my husband to do it I’m afraid he’ll fall off and break his neck, our house is really tall! And to hire someone to out to install the outdoor antenna would be a bit expensive!
In looking at the photo you provided, if I’m not mistaken, I think you would want to put the OBTV Filter between the antenna and Jolt, then plug the Jolt amplifier into the Tablo device. This would remove interference and then amplify the clean(er) signal going into the Tablo.
If the Mohu antenna is on the 2nd floor on the side of the house facing the direction the antenna farm is located, you should be able to receive most of the GREEN and maybe some YELLOW channels shown on RabbitEars.info. I don’t know how much I would trust the validity of the antenna range claims.
Does your mom have a Tablo unit? Is it connected to the Tablo unit?
We have a smart Roku TV it is located on one side of the room and wall, our Tablo and antenna is located by and on our upstairs bedroom window
I don’t know if my husband would want to pay that much for an antenna? We can’t have a outdoor antenna on our House because of our HOA BUT if I put it on the back end of our house where the antenna is suppose to be, our HOA Won’t be able to see it?
This is where we would put the antenna, upstairs window either outside of our upstairs window or inside of our upstairs bedroom window
The only problem is we would have to get a super long ladder to mount that antenna and find a good stud spot to mount the antenna, our house is covered in stucco.
If we put it inside of our house upstairs in our bedroom where the original antenna is located we would have to put it on our small table which doesn’t sit very high just below our window sill, I don’t know if I would get a good signal because it wouldn’t be sitting up high?
I can’t put the antenna on the side of our house upstairs in our bedroom because there is a house right next to us blocking everything even on the other side of us! Our houses in our community neighborhood are close together not far apart or spaced out. Our towers are supposably be facing East? and I do believe that there are more than one Tower? The back of our upstairs bedroom Window faces the East?
Here is an antenna on Amazon for only $50. The Most of the ratings appear to be positive. The claim of 200 Mile Range is misleading though. There are a lot of pictures posted in the reviews with quite a few of them showing pictures of it installed in the attic space (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18)
That antenna is way too big, and don’t plan on having it inside of our house and don’t plan on putting it inside of or attic cause we don’t go up into our attic and keep stuff in our attic. And we can’t put it on the back of our house cause it’s way too big and can’t put it on our roof cause of HOA!

Her 2 TVs are downstairs connected to Rokus.
The Tablo, and Rokus connect via wireless.
Caution, I am not a tech expert and this is an unscientific anecdote.
However I have the TV antenna farm 10 miles away, and struggled with consistent reception for years cuz the house has no line of sight to the broadcast antennas. I also don’t want to put up an outside antenna, too much hassle.
I tried the mudflaps, clear stream, in every possible location. nothing worked as an interior antenna till I got one of the Televes indoors–suddenly quite good reception and very rare pixillation. I use them without the buuilt-in amp (FYI it is supposed to be their proprietary ‘smart’ amp), and turn the Tablo amp off also. The antenna does not seem to mind that it is looking out a window the wrong way with reference to the broadcast antenna location. Note that the Televes indoor antennas have slightly different freq coverage. Amazon used to sell them.

The Mohu Leaf will probably never pick up the MeTV station since it is such a low VHF channel (2.10) at your distance from the towers. I agree with @wysiwyggin with placement of the filter and Jolt amp. I’m not familiar with the OBTV filter.
I found with my Mohu Leaf I got better reception by NOT putting it in the window. I put it on the wall next to the window for some reason. I wouldn’t let that stop you. The most important things are to get an antenna that picks up the low-vhf range of channels and it is facing the direction of the towers, which according to the zip code provided shows them being to the south and not east. Somewhere in the SW-SE wedge if looking at it like a pie chart.
