Gen 4... 2 tuner vs 4 tuner

I have a legacy Tablo that is giving me some issues. Ordered another power supply in hopes that will correct things. However, if it doesn’t, I would be looking at replacement. Have any of you that have used both the 2 tuner and 4 tuner noticed much of a difference in signal strength between the two? I know you are splitting the signal more, and there should be a bit of a drop, but is it noticeable in reception?

if you’re worried about signal, id go for the 2 tuner to play it safe.

If you got good signal and you record a lot, then get the 4 tuner.

Reception aside I’d get the 4-tuner. Back in the day I got a 2-tuner Legacy unit, and ultimately upgraded to a 4-tuner. Wonky tv schedules (end at 8:31pm, etc) introduced conflicts.

I’ve still got one of each but I have them on separate antennas on separate sides of my apartment. I do tend to have better reception on my 4-tuner, but it’s hard to say if it’s due to the placement, the difference in antennas, or the puck itself.

I have successfully recorded 4 stations at once without an issue. So, as @KimchiGUN says, if you generally have good reception, the 4-tuner is the way to go.

I made the mistake that @mbellaire made, but twice and with the 4th gen. I purchased my first 2-tuner and fell in love. I purchased a second one to have additional tuners. Then the 4-tuner came out just days after my return window had closed. I can honestly say if the 4-tuner had been available at purchase time, I would never have bought a second unit – let alone the three I ended up with!

Thanks guys. I’ll probably go with the 4 tuner if the power supply I get doesn’t fix my issues. My signal is pretty good, but I sometimes have a bit of problem when the weather is funky.
