The channel is correct, but the content is completely wrong. I have found the correct programming info online. An incorrect guide means you can’t record the shows you want, which ruins a DVR product.
That’s true.
But there are lots of posts here about this kind of problem.
Tablo gets its OTA TV data from a company called Gracenote. This is tied to the zip code you enter into your Tablo settings.
If the guide data is wrong, Tablo is not at fault; rather it is the guide data provider.
One suggested possible fix is to enter a zipcode nearby your own zip code and run a channel scan again. Gracenote may provide correct guide data for a nearby zip code.
Go to this Gracenote page and change provider to Antenna in your zip code. TV Listings- Find Local TV Listings and Watch Full Episodes
If Gracenote has the right programming data for the station then it is a Tablo problem. If Gracenote has the wrong data it is the station’s problem.
Gracenote matches what the programming will be, the Tablo guide is wrong.
Check for yourselves, at 8pm ET on Estrella there is a soccer game, Gracenote agrees, but Tablo says it’ll be something else.
So if I wanted to record the soccer game, I have to know when the games are, and record the other show that the guide says is on at that time. In this case, two 1 hr shows instead of the one 2 hour game.
Report it to Tablo. https://support.tablotv.com/hc/en-us/requests/new
Sounds good, I submitted
They said they can’t fix the guide data for FAST streaming channels.
It could be worse. I have a FAST channel that doesn’t have any guide - programming not available. How am I going to know I missed “War of the Insects”
You might be joking, but that sounds awesome and I’d love to be able to DVR that. Which channel is it on?
Hello,
Just to double-check,
In this case, your Tablo showed two 1-hour shows, but when you selected them, it actually played the soccer game instead, correct?
Or did it play the shows it displayed on the guide?
“War of the Insects” (also known as Genocide), a 1968 Japanese horror film, is available to stream on Netflix (in certain regions), Prime Video, and the Criterion Channel. It may also be available through niche horror streaming services.
You can watch it for free on Youtube at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IZ1nvR_4xB4
It plays the soccer game. So right now I use another website to see what’s really playing on that channel, and I’ll record whatever the guide says it is.
So instead of “Liga MX” from 7pm-9pm, it’s listing some game show from 7pm-8pm and another from 8pm-9pm. I click on the game show, and watch the soccer game. Or record the game show, watch half the soccer game, then the other half.
Yesterday it was playing on FAST channel MST3K.
Following up, were you able to use this information?
