FF or return to Live, after pause or rewind Live TV

I’m probably missing something obvious. When I pause or rewind Live TV, I can’t seem to go back to the live stream without exiting and coming back in. Fast-forwarding seems to be ineffective, and there doesn’t seem to be a “live” button.

Some use cases of primary interest:

  1. I pause to take a phone call or something, then when I start watching again I want to be able to skip commercials until whenever I finally catch back up.
  2. I rewind a bit to pick up something I missed, then want to be able to skip commercials to catch back up.
  3. I accidentally hit Pause, and want to get back to Live (minimal buffering delay).

This is on a Roku 4, if that matters.

Since thumbnails seem to be only generated for a recording and then only after the recording is done, how would you know you were skipping commercials for live TV?

My Roku doesn’t have any problem pausing and then fast forwarding to the end which is “Live” TV. It also doesn’t have any problem rewinding to watch and then fast forwarding to the end which is “Live” TV. There just aren’t any thumbnails.
