Recently purchased a 4th Gen unit. When watching live TV if there is rapid movement of something on the show I get some blurring while the movement is going on. For example a weather reporter moved from one side of the screen to the other and she was slightly blurred while moving. Hope that makes sense.
I am using an Apple TV 4k.
I also have a HDHomerun and never see this issue there. And watching a channel direct on my TV is no issue either. I have switched antenna cables between the 2, etc. No change.
Could be something in the AppleTV settings or the TV hdmi settings where the AppleTV is connected. The data stream from the Tablo should be just that … a data stream. It should be the same as what is being decoded from the atsc 1.0 OTA signal.
Check settings like frame rates, upscaling, etc.
Just a suggestion.
Edit: I sometimes sit on my back patio in nice weather and watch live OTA tv from my Tablo on an iPad and have no issues with picture quality. Even over wifi. Not exactly the same as using an Apple TV device, but maybe similar?
If this was an issue it should be doing it with my HDHomerun.
Not necessarily. WIFI or Hard wired Tablo. Try different HDMI port to plug in Apple TV? Do you mean blurred or blocky/pixelated? Do you have a different TV that you can connect to?
