Failed to schedule error message

I just got my Tablo set up! Now I’m trying to set it up to record a CBS show tomorrow but I’m getting the error message “Failed to Schedule. There was an error scheduling this airing . . . .”

So now I’m playing around trying to see if other shows can be recorded and I’m finding some can be recorded and others I get the Failed to Schedule message. Any idea as to why this is happening? Live shows are coming in clear and fine.

You didn’t say if you were trying to use the live TV grid or the Shows guide. Or what device you were trying to use. Or what channel. If using the Live TV grid try to use the Shows guide. Sometimes if the device/app is being used for the first time it may take time to load the data based on the number of channels being used.

It could have to do with inconsistencies with the Guide data. If you’re in a large metro area, try using a different ZIP Code.

You can also check your ZIP Code in Gracenote to see if the programming matches.

If all looks fine, you may want to contact Tablo support.

I’m brand new to Tablo; this is all new to me and taking a lot to get used to so please be patient. It’s the Live TV grid I’m using on my television. I just tried to record using the Shows guide and I can’t record from there either. With the Shows guide I don’t get the error message but the little blue checkmark in the lower right doesn’t light up and the show doesn’t appear in my list of scheduled recordings.

Maybe as you say, it’s taking time to load the date. This would be so even if it the show is on the listing? I wish Tablo and the Firestick remote came with directions. Figuring out which button to push is all trial and error.

These are regularly scheduled network shows that I’m trying to record (and have recorded with no problems in the past on cable) so I don’t think there are any inconsistencies with the guide data. I’m not in a large metro area (such as NYC or Houston or Chicago).

But what device are you using. I use roku and fire tv stick these use to have that problem many months ago but has since been corrected. But other devices/app I don’t know.

If it’s fire tv stick you can exit the tablo app go into the fire tv stick settings - manage apps and delete the tablo cache. This should cause the data to be reloaded from the tablo unit into the app. If it’s the data on the tablo unit you can go into settings and manually update the guide data.

Sorry, by device I thought you meant tv or phone. I’m using a Firestick. I went to settings and reloaded the guide. I think I’m okay now and it looks like I can record the show I wanted to record. I’ll know for sure tomorrow after it airs. Thank you for your help.

Just in case it doesn’t work tomorrow, here’s an article on how to clear the cache on the Fire Stick and other devices.
