Hello all. I just got a 4th Gen Tablo and set it up. Getting ready for football tomorrow. I was testing it out and most of the channels I go to on my iPhone app I get the error “Failed to load. Item not found.” I can work around it by tapping on the channel name to bring up the live programming, but I don’t see a way to set a recording in these situations.
I also tried doing a search for the football game I want to record tomorrow. It came right up in the serach, but when I tap on it I get the same error. Is there a way around this? Or at least a way to set up a manual recording? This Tablo seems pretty limited.
I was able to fix the issue. I went to the settings in the iOS app, and in the Guide section I tapped update. It took about 30 minutes, but when it was done I stopped getting the error. The first update must’ve failed somehow. I was still able to view the data in the guide, but not open any individual show.
Good idea to test everything beforehand! Just make sure you have a strong antenna signal as well as a wifi chip powerful enough to transmit the data to all your devices and you’ll be doing great!
Sometimes, the guide data takes a few hours to fully “come in.” Also, the Tablo does some overnight magic that may have solidified what was a temporary schedule.
Sorry that no one was able to respond before everything was up and running, but you did the right thing by coming here. There are many smart people who can help.
Thanks for your reply! Luckily it ended up being a simple thing. I only wish there were more robust capabilities to help get around issues. Like in this case manual recording would have helped. But looking around the forum I can see that the Tablo is pretty locked down.
It is pretty locked down. Manual recording would be great for the many who have channels without guide data. But yeah, it gets more locked down with every firmware update. Up until recently we were able to access the server to watch the m3u8 files through your network…
