External HDD vs SSD

Well, I was looking for a SSD on Amazon today and I was shocked by the current prices. I guess this will settle the HDD vs SSD debate for now. The 4 TB SSDs are no less than $500 and you can’t even find a WD or Seagate model.

The 2TB SSD I bought about two years ago has doubled in price.

A good quality, high-speed, HDD is likely a better choice for constant re-writes anyway.

Well, aren’t WD SSDs call Sandisk now?

I think SanDisk spun off from WD, no? (no pun intended).

Thank goodness for tariffs.

While I am sure that the tariffs had some impact, most reports I am reading suggest that the explosive growth of server farms is what is driving up the price of solid state memory.
