I have had this recorded program on my Tablo 4 for 6 years. How can I get rid of it? The delete does not work.
Open a Support ticket, and ask them to delete it for you.
Itâs inconvenient, but the only solution I can think of.
Maybe you can remove by looking in the Scheduled section.
I opened a support ticket and after some back and forth they said that the only way to fix the issue is to do a hard reset which will wipe all existing recordings. This, of course, is unacceptable. I donât understand why they canât review their code and change the delete function to delete shows that âdonât existâ.
Did you first try deleting recently or did you do it a long time ago? But it refuses to go away. Or did it never allow to to delete it? I think this happened to me on my legacy Tablo a few times in the almost 10 years now. Eventually it would clear itself up.
Itâs been over 5 years and itâs my habit to delete shows once I have seen them. So, the answer is yes. I have been trying to get rid of it for a long time. I have been a Table user for over 9 yearss.
Things have changed. I canât delete recordings, period! The PC app (windows) and my.tablotv are not able to delete a recording. The page just freezes and Tablo hangs. I am able to delete with a Roku and an android cell phone.
So, the MS Windows Tablo app, and web browsers (my.tablotv.com) wonât let you delete one, or more recordings, but it works via Roku, and Android apps.
While I donât think Tablo will fix the problem, cuz they seem to be moving away from web browser support, I did run into a similar issue, found a workaround a long time agoâŚ
Some of my recordings couldnât be deleted, even via Roku Tablo app.
The issue was the channels used for the recordings were removed.
I added the channels back and was able to delete the recordings.
I believe the root cause is following these steps:
- Schedule recurring recordings on a channel for a series.
- Series episodes record.
- Delete the channel the scheduled recordings use.
I believe #3 causes the problem, and the workaround to prevent it from ocurring is to unschedule the series, before deleting the channel the scheduled recordings use.
Hereâs my reference:
I am having the same issue in that I cannot delete any recordings whatsoever when using my.tablotv.com with Firefox on Windows. I can view any recordings, live TV, etc; only âDelete Recordingâ does not work any longer(as of about Dec 2024). Upon clicking âDelete Recordingâ, the browser window(Firefox) will go slightly gray then the Tablo will âfreezeâ. Itâs as if the âAre you sure you want to delete the recording?â confirmation is trying to pop up but does not. I am able to delete recordings via the Tablo app on Roku and Android.
Any thoughts?
So, it seems there are two Delete issues - one deleting old shows where the channel has been removed, and one where the Web App no longer will Delete recordings.
This is for the latter issue. I just did a test to see if I was affected and it turns out, I am also affected and cannot delete Recordings in the Tablo OG using Firefox (as I was able to in the recent past). HOWEVER, I was able to perform a delete of one show using this method.
- Click on a recorded show;
- Go down to and click the red Delete Recording button;
- Press the Right arrow, then press the Enter key - show deletes.
I was able to use this process to delete the show. I also used this same process with the Delete All button and it worked.
It seems like something may have changed in Firefox that keeps the old code for the Tablo OG browser app from showing the modal pop-up window. However, the window is there. TabloTV is probably NOT going to update this HTML App v1.9.35 build 1041 [202402051332] code to fix the OG app.
Hmmm I seem to have the same problem now. But this just started within the last week or so. Using Firefox with the web app Tablo freezes after selecting delete. I am however able to delete using the Windows app.
Whoa⌠this actually works! As you stated, the confirmation popup does not appear but following your steps, it will delete the recording.
Thanks⌠again!
Just an FYIâŚI just tried to STOP a recording and ran into the same issue. The window darkened as if the modal window was there, but it wasnât visible. I used the right arrow once and hit Enter to stop the recording, without the modal window visible. So, this isnât just happening on DELETE.
This has recently started for me as well, using Firefox on Mac.
Any kind of delete no longer gives me pop-up to confirm, it just stays in that greyed-out state.
Delete still works on iPhone app.
Wow thanks for this workaround!
Makes me wonder about how the feature broke - perhaps whatever renders the confirmation button fails, but the functionality remains, and is accessible via simple keyboard-based browser navigation.
Youâre welcome. Because the Tablo code doesnât appear to have changed, my guess would be same as yours - that this issue may be caused by an incompatibility between existing Tablo code and a browser code update/change to the method that renders such modal windows.
