I got a gen 4 a few weeks ago, and so far, it’s doing ok. The interface is pretty clunky imho and takes a ton of clicks sometimes, but I can adjust to that. I’ve noticed there is not a “premiering” tab under the shows listing that I really miss, as wandering thru all shows to see if anything new is coming up is a pain. Any solution to this? Also, when I look at an upcoming recording/show, it gives me the one/two sentence episode description and the first aired date. I like this because PBS has a tendency to tag ALL their shows as new, even when they are years old. Once the show is recorded, I don’t see any way to access this info on the recording itself. Am I missing something there as well?
The interface can vary depending on the streaming device, but on Roku you can find the ‘premiering’ on the Home page of the Tablo. You have to click down about 8 clicks to find it.
I, too, have not been able to find the full show description in the Library on the Roku, but you can find it using the phone app. In fact, I find that a lot of things work better on the phone app. I will often be watching the Tablo on my Roku, while doing other things using the Tablo phone app at the same time. I certainly do most of my series programming via the phone. My phone is always next to me when I am watching TV anyway. As they continue to improve the Roku app, hopefully they will make this information more accessible.
I have both Roku and GoogleTV. I found the premiering tab on both as you described, thanks. “not very intuitive” is the phrase I seem to be uttering often with this device. I will try out the phone app, thanks. Seems weird that they can do descriptions on the phone app, but not on the streamer apps.
