Consensus on Firmware 2.2.12?

All I can say is my experience has been flawless. From the looks of the forums though, it seem that your milage may vary. (I did come up through the beta, not a fresh update)

My use of the tablo is pretty basic. I don’t use remote connect, plex, or rip recordings. I use Roku and have learned to live without using tablo for Live TV.

There were few changes in 2.2.12 and none of any interest to me. So the fact that 2.2.12 works for the majority of users isn’t a surprise - unless one is expecting a serious regression.

But it’s does appear that the few problems I reported still weren’t fixed.

Of course those that use Roku OS 7.5 might notice that every once in a while when you resume a paused recording it starts the load process and pops back to the upper menu. The subsequent resume always seems to work.

I had a problem with Tablo daily lock ups which required reboot. At first I thought it was the 2.2.12 firmware, then Tablo hardware. I recently pulled 100 feet of CAT6 into our detached garage and moved my Tablo out there to be closer to the antenna. Unfortunately I added a cheap switching hub between Tablo and the Synology wifi/router in the house. It has been rock solid since removing the switching hub.

Now if I could just get our cat to quit watching YouTube Kitten Academy in the living room so I could watch more of my TV shows …

I saw a problem Friday night that I saw last Friday as well, at exactly the same time.

From 8-9PM, I was watching a show on one channel as it was being recorded. At 9PM, there were 4 programs scheduled to be recorded, including one on the channel I was already watching. At 9PM, Tablo spontaneously rebooted.

Now, one of the shows I was recording at 9PM I don’t really care about, so I deleted it from the schedule and will see what happens next time when 4 tuners are not in use. May take a while because many shows are starting to go on hiatus, and next Friday is the day after Thanksgiving and many shows will likely be reruns.

CAUTION: If you have Amazon Fire and Tablo a firmwarae “update” has or will render your Tablo useless. Neither Tablo nor Amazon have solutions. Tablo will pass you off to Amazon and Amazon has no answer…If you use Amazon Fire do not buy Tablo.

I contacted Amazon and they have no answer at this time except that “they’re working on it”

I have the same issue with Amazon Fire. They say they are “working on it” which means they’re all out having coffee and donuts
