so I was making it harder than it needed to be - lol. Talking to my son, he said the light blue cord is the - like you said - power line connected to the main router. He told me to leave that alone and get another cord and plug it into ANY lan on the netgear router and the other end into tablo. And voila - connected! Thank you all.

I have no idea whats going on behind the tv and especially this box that swallows up the cords to what?..the belly of the house?

Nope. leave the light blue cord alone.
Get a new ethernet cord and plug THAT into ANY lan on the router and the other end into Tablo
