I updated the tablo app on my Roku and suddenly there was a Christmas plus channel at the top of my guide. Being a Scrooge, I unchecked it on the channel list and updated the guide, but it’s still there at the top of the guide.
I guess this will go away on its own in a couple of weeks or sooner?
I don’t have a 4th gen Tablo but that does sound very annoying… Scripps marketing folks hard at work!
My Roku makes unwanted/unasked for changes too; new left menu items, theme changes, etc.
This feature doesn’t bother me one bit. As a matter of fact I posted that they should post the new FAST chans that they add at the top of the guide for one week so I can know what’s new. I made the suggestion when they announced daily updates to the FAST chans. It saves me from wasting my time by manually scanning thru the FAST chans to discover new additions or deletions. It may be selfish of me but an old octogenarian like me has a strong interest in saving time.
I also requested, when they first started putting FAST chans at the top, that they allow us to select our own FAST chans to go on top.
Good points, which wouldn’t occur to me since I have never used the FAST channels, except for some dabbling when I first got the Tablo.
They were more useful when you could see every upcoming movie sorted by channel…
On Roku, from movies, push down 3 times to channels. I use this all the time to see what’s coming up over the next 2 weeks by channel on my favorite chans.
Me too, I can save time just checking the couple of channels that actually show movies of interest to me.
You’re right. This feature hasn’t been discontinued on Roku… yet. But keep in mind that this also used to be available on other devices until they “upgraded” the UI on those systems.
Yep. Just lost it on my Tivo Stream. Searching for movies is much faster when done by channel and not having to scroll through all of the junk movies streaming on the FAST channels.
