My Tablo 4th gen tuner was working well this morning and in the afternoon stopped displaying the channel guide. I’m running on Roku Smart TV here are the specifics.
Application Version 1.1.0-734366
Roku hardware C107X
Version 14.6.4
Tablo Firmware 2.2.54
Running through Ethernet Broadband
If anybody is having the same problem you can reply on my post and if anybody can give suggestions I’m open. But before you do keep in mind I did most of the standard troubleshooting.
I just sat down to watch the evening news. Mine is doing the exact same thing. I tried rebooting my Roku, but that did not make a difference. Interestingly, I record the evening news and I was able to watch it just fine from the recording, while it was still broadcasting.
If it continues I will try rebooting the router and the Tablo puck.
Ok I did the resetting of the router and the Tablo unit and still no channel menu. I guess it’s on Tablo’s end or something. It runs fine on my android phone but not my Roku TV.
I was watching some OTT so I thought I would give it a try on Roku. On Roku no Live TV grid at all. Just the spinning wheel of death for the guide data - Shows, Movies, Sports. On Fire TV stick Live Live results in “Unable to Load Live TV”. And the guide data results in “Unknown Error”.
I would guess the tablo servers are down and they still haven’t figured out how to decouple tablo from the servers.
iOS app taking forever to start up, then says cannot find guide data, then after minutes guide pops up, but will not play OTA, just endless spinning gear
not the first time, of course can’t play recordings either
The good news is, it seems to be recording shows that were previously set up to record. To be honest, the evening news is about the only thing I watch live any more.
I think this was a temporary server crash (happens with Tablo a lot). About a half hour ago my Roku box (4802x with the just updated app) showed a blank live guide. My Android app said it could not load live TV either. Downdetector also started to spike with Tablo error reports. Then about 10 minutes ago both the Android and Roku started working again.
Sorry you’re having this issue. I’m not experiencing this. But, if you haven’t already done so, you might try restarting your router, Tablo, and Roku/TV in that order.
I’ve seen from @TabloTV that this is the best method when restarting devices. They may have an article on this, but I didn’t see it. This one only explains what to do, not how to do it.
Edit: WoW, that was a LOT of comments that came in while I was typing. We’ve been watching our Tablo since about 3:00 PM CDT and haven’t seen an issue (in D/FW area).
Edit2: my Samsung phone isn’t showing the Home screen on the Tablo app, but the Guide and Library are working. The Home finally loaded after the Try Again was pressed.
what ‘fixes’ such problems is to do nothing, wait it out IME
have gone to bed so often with bungled up tablo, then next day overnite it figured out how to work again.
reboots, restarts usually don’t help, IME
as a new user, I would do all that stuff, with middling results. got fed up. And it is physically difficult for me to get around between rooms to tinker with various devices, that’s why I have a tablo ITFP
so I learned to let it be, come back later, and usually the problem is over, and was not AFAIK on my end
and it does record as I set it up, one way or tother
