Feature Description
On the legacy Tablo app, there is a primetime section that allows us to quickly see thumbnails of the shows available during primetime only hours for each of our favorite networks. You simply pick the favorite network, and you see a list of thumbnails for the shows airing during primetime on that network over the next two weeks. It takes less than a minute per channel (about 5-7 minutes total for us to go through all our favorite networks) to see if there is anything worth recording and setting up the recordings, as opposed to taking 40+ minutes to go through the grid or to go through all the shows playing 24/7 per favorite network on the 4th gen Tablo app.
It might seem minor, but we can sort thru and set up recordings on the legacy Tablo app every two weeks in under 10 minutes but as stated above, it takes more than 40 minutes to do so on the 4th gen Tablo app. As an example: we have two PBS networks in our area. Each one has about 15 to 20 shows that air during primetime over a two week period. Take out the primetime filter and they each have about 150 to 200 shows each that air over the course of two weeks. Scrolling while the app waits to load thumbnails for 150 to 200 shows is painful. Doing it twice is not doable, so we just no longer record shows from PBS. We could go to the the website for each channel and download their guide an manually go through it, then cross reference that with the table app, but that defeats the purpose of a time-saving DVR. The feature already exists on the Legacy app and we are hopeful that since it should only need a filter applied for primetime hours, it would not too much work to add that feature to the 4th Gen app.
