“Cannot locate Tablo” error message, ONLY on 1 FireTV, other FireTV and iPad work

Here is what I am seeing:

we completely lost access to the Tablo app last weekend with error message of “we cannot locate your Tablo at this time”, all FireTV and iPad devices

power cycled the entire system multiple times

cleared cache and data on all installed apps on both Fire TV’s

deleted unused apps from both Fire TV’s to ensure it is not a storage or app issue

After doing this, Tablo is now available on 1 of our 2 Fire TV’s and my personal iPad but NOT the other FireTV

searched the Tablo website for solutions, tried all recommendations but still cannot get the 2nd Fire TV to open Tablo

power cycled that FireTV multiple times, deleted cache/data/unused apps and power, Tablo will still not open on this TV??

Grateful for any coaching you can offer.

sure you are not connected to a different SSID or a quest SSID?

I am assuming SSID is the WIFI network? I have checked settings on our FireTV and it appears to be connected to our home WIFI network, just like the other FireTV where Tablo works. So, only 1 TV still “not finding Tablo”? I have searched the Tablo website, contacted their customer service but not help.

Hello, and welcome to the Community. Have you already tried swapping the FireTV sticks to see if the issue follows the stick or remains at the TV location?

Thanks for the suggestion! I just tried to switch FireTV sticks and now neither FireTV will open Tablo. Help?? I have a severely disabled spouse whom depends on watching TV every day for entertainment. How do I fix this issue?

Oh, no! I’m sorry about that. I don’t know if this will help, but did you reboot your router and Tablo, and clear the app cache on your devices? You might want to wait 30 minutes after the reboots to clear the cache, or do it before the reboots.

Great tip and I have done everything Tablo support has posted on their website. The only thing I have not done is a factory reset which I am going to do next. We were really enjoying Tablo up to this point. I cannot connect to a human being for help there. Grateful for all coaching here!

Have you tried going to My Status - Tablo TV to get the URL of the Tablo on your network then going to that URL using the browser app on the Fire TV? If you get a response, that should confirm that the Fire TV has network connectivity to the Tablo.

Thanks Ron! However, can you dumb that down a bit for me? I clicked the link and see the first step you are talking about but do not understand the second step. What is the FireTV browser? Where do I find that?

I don’t actually have a Fire TV stick. I thought this would work. How to Use the Silk Web Browser on Fire TV - Amazon Customer Service
Enter the URL in the address field of the browser.

The browser might complain that the site is not secure. See if you can override that somehow.

Sorry you’re running into that @Evan_Conant ,

As per @KimchiGUN 's suggestion, it’s a good idea to check the SSIDs.

It’s possible your Tablo or Fire TVs are logging into your router’s guest network, which would limit their ability to talk to each other.

Thanks all for your help! End result = this was an issue with the external hard drive we had connected to our Tablo. If you are having similar issue, disconnect your external hard drive, power cycle your entire system and try to access Tablo again.
