Can you watch remotely

How can I use my tablo to watch on a mobile phone when I am not connected to my home or base wifi Internet?

I’ve been using my home router’s OpenVPN server where my Tablo v4 is connected, and I’m able to connect to my Tablo v4 remotely from my mobile device(s) with their OpenVPN client app connected to my home router’s OpenVPN server.

Out of home steaming coming to 4th gen

Until they bring their version of out-of-home access to the new Tablo v4, I was able to use my iPad from another family members home over 100 miles away with my iPad connected to my GL.iNet OpenVPN (TCP) connection to my place where the Tablo v4 is located to watch stuff from the Tablo v4 remotely for now. It seemed to work OK, but that was before all of the recent software and firmware updates.

I am confused! You say that that you can watch remotely and others say it’s no possible.
I can’t conn6to my home router or I ter remote how is that possible?
My tablo only connects to my phone or iPad when I am at my home location ok am still seeking here on this

Some (or most) routers have a built-in VPN feature that allows you to tunnel directly to your home network from outside your network. It takes a little research, but many brands have made it pretty easy to set up.

Check YouTube for instructions on how to set up your particular router. A DNS service is recommended if you don’t have a static IP address. Sometimes it’s worth the extra $5/month to get one from your ISP.

Thank you. I have my tablo currently setup on T-Mobile router I also have cox ISP but it has terrible service. I am 75 yo so and not as techie as I was a few years ago. Old age is not a good thing. But I will try to give it a go in a few days. Thank you.
