Can I rewind OTA live streaming

If I am watching a live channel with OTA, does the Tablo 4th gen has the capability to rewind a few seconds or minutes?

Yes, but only as far as when you tuned into the channel. For instance, if a program started at 8:00, and you tuned into that channel at 8:20, come 8:30 you could back up as much as ten minutes but no further.

However, if you had previously set that program to record, you can find it in your library section and watch it from the beginning even if the program has not yet finished recording.

Thank you, so it has a buffer of 10min as soon as I connect to a channel or at any point while watching a channel I can rewind up to 10 min?

No any buffering that takes place does so the moment you switch to that channel, unless you had that channel set to record ahead of time. You cannot go backward from the point you tune in otherwise.

It does depend on the app. The mobile apps and the AppleTv app (still in beta) can go back a few seconds, but that is all. The Roku, FireTv, and GoogleTv apps act like @KGBnut posted.

No, it buffers from the moment you tune to a channel. If you tuned into that channel three minutes ago, you can go back three minutes. If you tuned in twelve minutes ago, you can go back twelve minutes. You can only go back to where you started, no further. I don’t know what the upper limit is (if there is one). I don’t think I have every tried to go back further than half an hour.

Thank you, that makes sense

Because I was curious, I checked to see how far I could back up while watching the morning news live. I was able to back up the full one hour and six minutes that had passed since I had tuned in. I’m sure there is an upper limit, but I don’t know what it is. I know my old Tivo would buffer live for 90 minutes.

Thank you, this is great
