Note to consider, as you just had one drive die. Often discussed, using your DVR as your digital media library.

All your content is stored on a single, semi-proprietary device. There’s no native backup or portability. That’s not to say it isn’t possible, not inherently supported.

More space means a larger collection to loose all at once.

Now, I believe I’m stocking up for retirement… when I may need to cut streaming services and, I’ll have hours/weeks/months of show to watch. Is it really hoarding if you can justify things?

I bought this 5Tb one. Now I have 12 tuners and 12Tb storage as I have 2 Tablos and a TiVo. I am planning to sell one or the other.
