Anyway to repair a Tabloo 4 Gen

Hello,
I have a Tabloo 4th Gen that died on me in 2025. It will not power up. I was part of the beta testers for the AppleTV, however I have no idea if an update borked my device or if it was a power surge. All I know is that my device will not power up. None of the “hold the reset button for X seconds, etc” did anything. The device was out of warranty so Tabloo said “only thing to do is but a new one!”
My question, does anyone repair these devices (outside of Tabloo)? I prefer to repair instead of replace, if the price is effective.
Admittedly I do not watch much TV, but when I do the Tabloo was nice to have.
Thank you in advance!

Be well,
Aldo Figueroa

I don’t know of anyone that repairs Tablo devices commercially. However, if you are handy with electronics, the failures that I have seen are due to a capacitor that burns out.

I am only okay with electronics, so handed my old one over to a friend. He confirmed the bad capacitor but hasn’t had a chance to replace it yet.

Regardless, a Tablo is so inexpensive I would recommend just replacing it. As of the last time I check, Tablo has saved me over $3000.00 having canceled my DirecTV… so well worth it.

Unless you know al electronics person who will do this for free, it will cost more to repair it than to buy a new one.
