This morning all my live TV channels are gone
I did a scan and they are still accessible but Tablo decided I didn’t need them anymore and removed them. Of course all the Tablo channels were still in the guide. Did a scan, unselected all the same channels. Checked my previous favorite channels were still defined.
These types of problems make users frustrated with Tablo. I can’t even fathom how this could have happened but I suspect it was a Tablo glitch.
I had an issue a day or two ago when I went to remove some new FAST channels. I notified support and they recommended I do the normal things, reboot, reset, etc., even changing my ZIP Code (which I did not do). I tried to remove these 5 channels over and over but to no avail. I waited a day and the channels I tried to remove suddenly showed to be removed and everything now looks normal.
I had something like this happen to me best thing that I did was a quick reboot just tap the button at the bottom of the Tablo and do another channel search and it should work.
A couple of days ago tablo gifted me some new FAST channels. No scan was done. They garbaged up my live TV list with 2 new channels. I had to rescan and deselect twice to get them to go away.
Yesterday no OTA or FAST channel turned. Just the spinning wheel of death. I had to rescan it again before it all started working. The fun is never ending.
I don’t know why, but I often find that I have to select or deselect channels and save twice before it sticks. Just FYI, to get rid of newly added FAST channels, You DO NOT need to rescan (new FAST channels magically appear without a scan), you can select and deselect channels from your last scan. I find that to be less disruptive.
I still have bad memories of scanning for channels from my early tablo days, so I rarely do it. Even if it is not too scary nowadays, when I’m just scanning the dozen or so channels I use; not all the channels, which I did as a novice user. I am just a few miles from the antenna farm, have effective indoor antennas, good reception, no reason to scan, if it ain’t broke…
Kind of silly to offer so many channels when the system breaks down under the strain.
I also get rid of new fast channels by just deleting them from the list and then saving the list. The guide updates itself overnight.
Luckily I have had no issues with the latest updates. Using roku ultra.
The new Tablo is just the biggest POS I’ve ever purchased, and I bought a lot of junk over the years. Buggy, unresponsive, glitches up the wazoo. Today, even my legacy Tablos were reporting ‘no tuners available’ and there was NOTHING recording or being used by anyone else.
I hate to do it with having antennas and all, but I’m going to look into a streaming service and ditch this piece of crap.
We solely use the Tablo to watch and record shows on the local channels. We can’t live without streaming services. We also have Philo. The wifey needs to watch her 90 Day Fiance and Love after Lock up!
I won’t pretend that my Tablo has been trouble-free, but for the most part, it works very well. I have pretty much stopped fiddling with it. I just watch the live programming and recordings that I like and better than 95% of the time, it just works. I don’t give it a second thought.
I don’t doubt that you are genuinely having problems, but I would bet that they are solvable.
