Amazon FireTV app ability to change channels

I have a FireTV Box, not the stick. Can the Amazon FireTV remote control channel up and channel down?

For example, say I’m watching something on channel 5 and I want to watch something on channel 6. Can I use the remote to change the channel to channel 6 without going to the “Guide” and selecting channel 6

I also have a Logitech Harmony companion remote. Would that work? If the FireTV remote does not?

You can push up to see what is playing now on the other channels without stopping what you’re watching live. You can then select what channel to watch. If you are going back and forth between two channels, hit the back button and you can choose the channel or exit the player to go to the full guide.
