Really, really, really, really old days…
$399 for 170KB floppy drive for our Commodore 64.
[getting way off topic now]
That’s over $1,300 in today’s dollars! You might be as old as me. (I’m over 60 yo). My first programmable device was a TI 59 calculator with those cool magnetic cards when I was in high school. I did plunk down $3,000 for the first IBM PC XT. I shoulda kept it, probably worth a fortune now.
I remember how exciting it was to purchase our family’s first PC in 1992 for $1700.00. It had a huge 130 mb hard drive. And a 14" color CRT monitor.
My family’s first computer came in the mid 80s and was an Epson with dual 5-1/4" floppy drives, no HD, a color monitor (I think 12") and a dot matrix printer. My parents used it for their business and us kids played games.
You have to disable auto delete or tablo will delete older shows to make room. I have 2tb ssd and record football, racing, hockey etc plus add xtra 3hrs too each recording and haven’t filled SSD yet. I have 4 tuner device.
Yep, that’s why I upgrade to 8TB external storage. Should never have a problem again!
Love it!
! The only trouble I have is when I am watching a recording it boots mebback to tablo home screen. Any ideas why?
Does it do this on all your streaming devices, or just certain ones? All recordings, or just some?
I guess I should check other devices such as phone and my tablet right?
That would help to narrow down where the problem lies.
I watched recording on my tablet and no issues. So must be Amazon fire cube issue? I have cleared cache restarted everything. Still boots me out to tablo homescreen. I also uninstalled app and reinstalled. Still boots me. Also I noticed it only does this on my 2 tuner tablo device but works fine on 4 tuner 1. Again it ran normal watching from tablet
What generation of Firecube do you have?
3rd gen
Seems like you may have found the source of the issue,
“Also I noticed it only does this on my 2 tuner tablo device but works fine on 4 tuner”.
Are you using the Internal storage or external storage in the 2 tuner?
Yes plenty of space with 2tb ssd.
Seems like a support call might be in order.
Ok thanks
Good choice!
I chose an 8TB self powered drive from day one with my 4th gen. I love it. It was $150, but smaller drives aren’t free. So to me, it’s definitely worth the difference.
It allows me to record a bunch of stuff that I may or may not watch. With that kind of space, you can just decide later.
I have a 5 TB drive. My first 4th gen bricked at about 10 months. My drive was wiped clean when I installed the warranty replacement. There was only about 2 TB on the Drive when I had to format it.
My concern is that the drive will last longer than the Tablo and the drive will never come close to being full.
