I have two channels with difficulty recently:
Channel 42-1 - when scanning, it shows CBS (which it should be), but when the rescan completes, it changes to FAM, and the guide data is wrong.
Channel 31-4 - when scanning, again, it shows MYS (which it should be), but when the rescan completes, it changes to ENLACE, and the guide data is wrong.
Is anyone else having similar problems? This is for the Austin, TX market.
No. But I am curious… do you have over-lapping markets in your zip-code? I think Tablo uses the zip-code to figure out the channels… but I am not sure.
And the guide data is wrong because it doesn’t match MYS, or ENLANCE, or either one? And when you watch live TV the actual channels 42-1 and 31-4 play CBS and MYS with the stations correct call letters.
I believe tablo’s channel scan will squeeze out the lowest strength channels broadcasting on the same frequency
The guide data shows programming for FAM and ENLACE, but the actual channels are CBS and MYS.
I changed the zip code from my location to “downtown Austin” (73301), and it shows correctly now (first rescan). Changed my zip code to my current location, and did another rescan and it shows the wrong TV stations again.
I guess I will have to utilize the “wrong zip code” to get the “right stations”.
I would suggest that you contact Tablo Support and see if they can get your guide data corrected for your zip code. If you are having problems, then there are probably others in your area with the same problem. As @pawnslinger stated, it’s possibly an overlap from another station, and your guide data has been incorrectly updated for your area.
I sent a note to the tech support people. Strange thing is this - the stations that I think it is picking up are out of San Antonio…I am on the north side of Austin. I gave them complete details.
