Ability to protect a series, not just individual episodes

There are some shows I never plan on deleting. I think the ability to mark a show as protected would be a nice addition.

That currently exists… unless you mean something other than what is coming across in your post… if so, please clarify.

Right now I protect individual episodes. I see no ability to protect at the show lve (and thus future episodes).

Just as we can record by series, I would like to be able to protect by series.

ok, so something like an auto-protect after recording for any show in the series.
