But after all my complaining, even if enough people vote on 5.1, I will not be enabling it if it comes at the cost of not being able to listen to audio on a smartphone. I don’t see this as an either-or solution, I see it as " I want it all" solution, but it seems that either the hardware can’t support the “I want it all” option, or Tablo is not interested in making it an “I want it all” solution.
I don’t see it as a big factor especially if it means I can’t use my tablet to watch my Tablo shows anymore.
All new iOS devices running iOS 9.3 or higher can now decode 5.1 AC3 audio natively so you wouldn’t lose audio on any Apple phones or tablets.
This wasn’t the case when Tablo originally launched in 2014.
I’m not an IOS user. I believe we had this discussion before, and Android can do it natively too…
