Let the channel order be an option. Like current, All Channels, Favorite Channels, or Recent. Add a fourth option, highlighted channels.
There has to be some many items on the bug and to do list you probably won’t live long enough to see this.

I assume its Scripps (TabloTV’s owners) that wants their own networks and paid other ones to appear at the top. It just like how Ion (a Scripps owned network) is always shown on the homepage telling me whats on. I assume they probably when end up, or have, put Scripps owned stations at the top aswell.
2 of the featured channels are owned by scripts (ION and Laff More). The other 3 are not.
Why has the channel guide changed? There are now 5 steaming channel listed first. It was that the number channels were listed first in the All Channels view.

I rarely got FAST channels to work. So it was just as easy to delete them from the channel list. maybe tablo should concentrate more on fixing app bugs and missing features.
As long as Tablo makes the device ‘stand-alone’ so it works locally all the time regardless of having an internet connection or access to the Tablo hosting server services being available at the time of user access, then you can list and promote whatever you want. Just make the device work 24/7 whenever the user is accessing it before doing things that have no impact on the device’s accessibility. After all, if the device doesn’t work when a user (customer) tries to access it because your Tablo hosting servers services are not accessable for whatever reason, then anything you are promoting won’t be seen.

They could have started with the gen 4 having the same level of availability as the legacy gateway. But they didn’t did they. They still have the problem where for a fast channel you can click on a program thumbnail and the app goes into the spinning wheel of death trying to access data that doesn’t seem to exist locally on the tablo unit.

Is it really constant server outages that cause this problem? If that is the case, they should give you an option to disconnect the app from whatever features require this server connection. The features are great but I suspect that most people who use this technology are already familiar with their local broadcasts and simply need a feature that will let them select an over the air channel. I only bought this device so I did not have to punch holes in my walls where I wanted to place my TVs.
This sounds like a FAST channel is paying for top billing in the grid.
All this is likely to do, is make me de-select a FAST channel that promotes itself to the top of the list and gets in my way.
Tablo succeeds only if it serves the needs of the consumer. Give us the ability to reorder and organize the channel grid the way we want.

I think Tablo is the one who is licenses to use those channels. Not the other way around.

Yes. Deselecting them works, but of course they aren’t in the same order in the channel scan results as they are in the guide where they promote them. So, unless you deselect all fast channels, you have to hunt for them in the list to deselect those that appear at the top. Favorites works great for this as well, but that feature isn’t consistent across the platforms. I hope it eventually will be.

That doesn’t seem like an overwhelming task. Especially since FAST channels rarely work for me. I’m on the 3rd attempt to record the same movie from amcthrillers. The firmware seems to know that the previous attempt failed and auto-reschedules to record if there are any upcoming broadcasts. two failures and 3 more attempts to go.
FAST channel recordings have become more like a weird game of chicken.
Got the same thing on my Tablo.
I’ve had this Tablo gen4 since Christmas. I’m really surprised the lack of new fast channels. Think I’ve only seen two added since then. I figured there would be a lot more added.

Another workaround to a problem in the guide. It would be nice if they would fix the problems instead of making more, like this one.

A user might think that if tablo releases an app update and doesn’t even mention this change, there might be a need for some new adults in the room.
