Hello.
While it is possible to search for sport events, it is not possible to record specific teams. I wish there was a feature that sorted the program listing by team, and I could record only a specific team.
Thatâs a different feature. And I doubt that the actual team name is a separate metadata field versus part of a description field. So that kind of feature versus lots of other features might be best described as âcoming coming coming soonâ.
I was about to request this feature too. With NFL season starting now, im only interested in recording my home teams game. Right now all we can do is record the entire âNFLâ league category. All we need is a sort of word filter for the title. the titles seem pretty consistent, for example tonights game is âBaltimore Ravens at Kansas City Chiefsâ. If you could just set a custom filter for âBaltimore Ravensâ it would be perfect.
This is nice for some things like recording the PGA event every week without needing to manually manage it, but for team based sports, I dont really care about recording the other 5-6 games that air which are not my home teams games. So we are stuck manually checking the scheduled recordings each week and setting âdont recordâ on the games we dont care about. This was one of the nice features of Youtube TV, in that i could specify to record only my team. Its too bad their prices went from $25/mo to $75/mo since it began.
You donât have to do anything with all the other games. Just record the ones for your team. It takes seconds to do, and you only need to do it 9 times a regular season.
you run the risk of forgetting and missing a recording any random week or if you are on vacation and out of the house for awhile you cant update it. Better to have it set to record all and just remove when I remember. But still would be great to be able to filter that down more.
I imagine this is an even bigger issue for MLB or NBA fans since games are multiple times a week/ every day. Thats a lot of manual managing.
Iâm not sure what market you are in but the local and L.A. MLB teams are blacked out from OTA So we are lucky to get 2 games every 3 weeks. NBA games - not yet - but L.A. played games are blacked out from local marketâŚ
So many excuses for why this canât be done or isnât necessary. Come on, this is a no-brainer that should have been included since day one. Cable TV has had this forever, and thatâs the competition.
TabloTV and CableTV⌠apples and oranges, sir. You likely pay more per month for cable than you have for your entire Tablo setup⌠itâs basically free.
Since they changed to the new GUI, I donât see âCollege Footballâ as a featured sport. College Basketball is still one of the Featured Sports and it ended months ago. I just wish that they would go back to displaying all the different sports categories like they used to do before the GUI change. Now I have to use the search option to limit results to the sport and league category I want to see.
Iâve requested a very similar feature, adding a âWishlistâ to the Search menu..
That is, you can just type out the keyword(s) you want the Tablo to be on the lookout for, save it in a list, and when those word(s) show up in the guide at a future date, it records the program⌠Could be a sports team, a show or movie title, or anythingâŚ
Seems like it shouldnât be hard, since you can already search for keywords now, but when I wrote them requesting that feature, I didnât get warm fuzzies that that was coming along any time soon⌠:-/
Iâm still shocked that Tablo Gen 4 doesnât support this. Plex does. Channels DVR does.
Their schedule metadata just needs to recognize the major sports leagues broadcasts, and add a tag for the teams that are playing. It could be done on their server so thatâs whatâs handed out to the clients. Or, with some client smarts, could be dynamically done on the clients.
