Why wont this piece of crap work

Brand new thing wont change to a live channel, tells me that the hard drive is full, freezes and i have to turn off my tv to get out of the damn app….before breaking the damn thing, is there a way to fix this?

can you give us more deets on your setup? Which streaming device are you using? Are they hardwired or wireless?

Hi @Cuca ,

Would you also let us know if you’ve completed the setup with your TV antenna? Also have you connected an external hard drive and, if so, what kind of hard drive it is?

set up is complete, its just my regular tv using the antenna that came with the tablo thing, no external hard drive, no streaming devices, just using the tablo app…

If you have no separate streaming device, you must be using a some sort of smart TV. What is it?

Personally, I don’t like the bundled antenna. They tend to work only if you are really close to the transmission towers. A roof-mounted antenna is best, but I know that is not an option for everyone. If you are limited to using a indoor antenna, there are much better options out there.

At the very least, you will need to experiment with different locations and orientations for the antenna you have, generally on an exterior wall, or near a window. If you have a small TV, try connecting the antenna directly to that. It is usually easier to adjust the antenna that way.

Have you checked some of the broadcast maps to determine where to point the antenna?

While not perfect, the Tablo is a good product, but it can take a while to get everything tuned correctly. I am outside New York and I get about 80 Over-The-Air channels.

yup, a samsung smart tv, new as well … I have reset the thing like 2 times. I tried it on another tv, a Sony, damn thing did the same thing and messed with the other apps on that tv.

Even on samsung or sony the setting page must indicate the available storage. And what about the phone or tablet used to do the initial installation. Does it work.

It may be a good idea to reach out to our technical support team so they can run some additional diagnostics.

May be a stupid question, but did you add the right Tablo App ?
There are two, one for Legacy devices and one for the Gen 4.

There are so many variables that can cause you to have reception issues or setup issues. If you are using the mud flap antenna, it would be helpful to see a reception report to see how close you are to the transmission towers and the type of antenna you need. Go to www.rabbitears.info and enter your address and make sure that the pin is over your house. Then hit enter to generate a report. At the top of the page will be a link to share the report.

I found this very helpful and it quickly fixed one of my channel issues! I was using the wrong channel in the Seattle area: I was using 13.1 (13), but needed to be using 13.1 (22).

Thanks!

And how did you choose between them? Did they both appear after your channel scan?

The information on other sites was somewhat confusing/inaccurate and channel scan was picking both up with strong signal, but 13.1 (13) was occasionally pixelating. However, 13.1 (22) was the the better choice based on what RabbitEars was showing and the towers aligned better with the key towers in the Seattle area.

Basically, I got much better information/details from RabbitEars than I have seen from any other site I have looked at for information. It also showed line of site (LOS) which was extremely helpful
