I was surprised to find out that Tivo introduced a very slick commercial option, even for my 10 year old Premiere box. I like that it doesn’t delete any part of the recording but rather just sets a marker that allows me to skip to the start of the next segment with one button press. It’s very nice. I wonder how difficult it would be to implement something similar for the Tablo.

Based on other people’s responses to what is a common request. I think difficulty isn’t the problem but rather cost of implementation. TiVo has real people marking the commercials (based on what other people here say). Even the TiVo doesn’t do every program. Tablo has a smaller customer base, a lower subscription price, and fewer employees. Hopefully it will become more feasible in the future.
I would like this option too.
