Why is it showing a conflict for only two recordings?

Gen 4; Chromecast app. It’s only set to record 2 things.

I’ve had those problems.

I don’t have the Chromecast app, but If you are able to and haven’t yet, take a look at what is scheduled.

No conflict there either.

So today was the day and sure enough it didn’t record. I could tune to the channel and watch it live, but it didn’t record. It also shows the same thing for tomorrow but not future recordings. Any one have a clue why this would happen?

How many tuners does your device have?

Two. Are there any Tablo’s with less?

No. What do you see when you click on Conflicts? I believe you should be able to record and watch one show while recording another. If you can’t do that, you may need to contact support.

Hi @mtnagel,

Is one of the shows airing on two different channels? It may be worthwhile to check the Channel setting for each.

It showed what I posted in the OP:

@TabloTV It’s set to record on any channel, but both shows only show one channel that it airs on so that’s not it, right?

To be clear, these two shows have recorded without issue since we got the Tablo a month or so ago. It’s just yesterday and today that it said there was a conflict even though they were the only two things recording at that time. Both days, NBC News didn’t record just like the conflict said it wouldn’t. Again, I could tune to that channel without issues during that time so there definitely wasn’t a conflict.

All things considered, this isn’t that big of a deal to me since we only record both in case one doesn’t air. But of course it’s definitely a weird bug that should be fixed. I’m much more concerned with this bug that has now happened several times and is much more disruptive to us - Just got Tablo yesterday and already 1 of the recordings is unplayable - #15 by wysiwyggin

Make sure nothing else (a third program) is recording on the same schedule.

Nope nothing was as you can see in the screenshots above.

The Conflicts page wiill probably only show 2 conflicting programs and not the third, because you have a 2-tuner model. You may need to manually search through the Live Guide or Scheduled page to find anything on the same schedule. It may not be readily visible. If you don’t see another program on the same schedule, then you may want to contact support.

They’ll probably point you at this article…

Good luck.

Note…Alternatively, you could check to see what DID record during the conflicted schedule to see what, if anything, is also recording.

The conflicts page definitely can show 3 recording on my unit when there are 3 which was not the case in this instance.

I did. Screenshot in OP. Only 2 things scheduled. This is a bug for sure.

I didn’t see a date on the Conflicts page, so you may need to search 2 weeks out into the schedule.

Chiming in here because it’s related to conflicts. The newest version of the app on Roku TV, if you are recording 2 shows and try to watch a third, instead of an error message now it just boots you back to the Roku screen.

I remember having too many conflicts on my G4 dual, especially during football season.

I don’t know all of the rules but I recall that Tablo starts recording a minute b4 start time and adds a minute at the end. I don’t know how much time is added to the end of a football game but the conflicts were during the extended recording time and the start of a following show.

We are heavy Tablo users which is why I have 3 of them. Legacy quad, G4 dual and G4 quad.

Check your settings, it may automatically record extra for live events, like games. Or you’ve manually set rules on a series recording, and that can be changed too.

I can remember a time in the past when I got conflicts while recording multiple half hour shows that ran back to back at the same times. As long as all the shows started and stopped at exactly the hour and half hour everything worked fine. But sometimes a show would be scheduled to end at 6:01 or 7:32 it would give me conflicts due to the overlaps. I have a 2 tuner legacy and 4th gen.

That is strange, @mtnagel,

Flag us if you see this same problem crop up again for future recordings.
