I’ve been using an el-cheapo Orico hard drive enclosure with a 3Tb WD Red with great success. I’m nowhere near being short on storage, and if I was, I have no doubt a larger drive would work with no problems. But, I was thinking, it would be nice if I could record shows directly to my home server.
Has anyone heard if this might be in works or if it has already been dismissed?
I think the added complexity in the Tablo software makes it not worth the effort. The additional support burden would be significant.
Also, saving things in real-time to a network device is often problematic.
Two main reasons why we don’t support this right now. At least with USB hard drives, the speeds are confirmed to be fast enough for both recording and serving up content.
